InvestEd — Terms of Service

Welcome to InvestEd. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and InvestEd ("we," "us," or "our") that governs your use of the InvestEd mobile application and any related features or services (together, the "App"). Please read them carefully. By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. What InvestEd Is (and Isn't)
InvestEd is an educational tool. It is designed to help you learn about investing concepts through lessons, quizzes, and a simulated investing experience.
InvestEd does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, or trading advice. Nothing in the App is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or to pursue any investment strategy. Any prices, charts, tickers, company information, portfolio values, or performance figures shown in the App are provided for educational and illustrative purposes only and may be delayed, simplified, incomplete, or inaccurate.
We are not a broker-dealer, investment adviser, financial planner, or licensed financial professional, and using the App does not create any advisory or fiduciary relationship. Before making any real financial decision, you should do your own research and consult a licensed professional who understands your personal situation.
2. Everything Is Simulated — No Real Money, No Real Securities
The investing experience in InvestEd is a simulation. Please understand clearly:
- No real money is ever involved in the portfolios, trades, or balances shown in the App.
- You are not buying, selling, or holding real stocks, funds, cryptocurrencies, or any other real security or asset.
- All "trades," "orders," "holdings," "cash," and "returns" are fictional and exist only inside the App for learning purposes.
- Simulated performance is not an indication of how you would perform with real investments. Real investing involves real risk, including the risk of losing money.
- You cannot withdraw, cash out, redeem, or transfer any simulated balance, position, or gain for real money or anything of value.
Because it's all pretend, nothing that happens in your simulated portfolio has any real-world financial consequence, positive or negative.
3. Gold — Virtual In-App Currency
The App may include a virtual currency called "Gold" (or a similarly named in-app currency). Here's how Gold works:
- Gold is a virtual, in-app item used for features inside the App (for example, unlocking content, cosmetic items, or other in-app perks).
- Gold has no cash value. It is not real money, not a real currency, and not a financial instrument.
- Gold cannot be redeemed, exchanged, refunded, transferred, sold, or cashed out for real money or anything of real-world value, except where required by law.
- You do not "own" Gold; you receive a limited, personal, non-transferable license to use it within the App.
- We may adjust, expire, revoke, or discontinue Gold, or change how it works or what it can be used for, at any time.
If your account is closed or the App is discontinued, any unused Gold may be forfeited without compensation, except where required by law.
4. No Purchases
InvestEd is free. There are no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or ads, and nothing in the App asks you to pay real money. If we ever add an optional paid feature, it would be offered only through Apple's In-App Purchase system, and we would update these Terms first.
5. Age Requirement (13+)
You must be at least 13 years old to use InvestEd. By using the App, you confirm that you are 13 or older.
If you are under the age of majority in your location (for example, under 18), you may use the App only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the App.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
6. Your Account
To use certain features, you may need to create an account. If you do, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date;
- Keep your login credentials secure and not share them; and
- Be responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
Let us know promptly if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account, and we are not liable for losses caused by someone else using your account with or without your permission.
7. Acceptable Use
We want InvestEd to be a safe, useful learning environment. You agree not to:
- Use the App for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful;
- Use the App to give the impression that it provides real trading, real brokerage, or real financial advice;
- Try to hack, disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, decompile, or gain unauthorized access to the App or its systems;
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts, or other automated means to earn Gold, manipulate simulated results, or gain unfair advantage;
- Copy, resell, distribute, or create derivative works from the App or its content without our permission;
- Upload or share content that is illegal, abusive, harassing, hateful, misleading, or that infringes someone else's rights; or

Attempt to buy, sell, or trade Gold, accounts, or simulated assets outside the App.

Choose a username that is offensive, sexual, hateful, or impersonates someone else.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. You can block or report another user from their profile in the App, or email us. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove offending content and suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.
We may investigate and take action, including removing content and suspending or terminating accounts, for any violation of these rules.
8. Intellectual Property
The App and its content — including lessons, text, graphics, logos, designs, and software — are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial, educational use, subject to these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
9. Changes to the App and These Terms
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the App at any time. We may also update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll take reasonable steps to let you know (for example, by updating the "Last updated" date or notifying you in the App). Your continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or your account, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we decide to discontinue the App. Upon termination, your right to use the App ends, and any unused Gold or simulated balances may be forfeited without compensation, except where required by law. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers, limitations of liability, and intellectual property) will continue to apply.
11. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or available at any particular time;
- Any information, price, or figure shown in the App is accurate, complete, current, or reliable; or
- The educational content is suitable for your particular circumstances or will produce any particular result.
Again: InvestEd is for education only. It is not financial, investment, or trading advice, and all portfolios and trades are simulated. Any decisions you make in the real world are your own responsibility.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, InvestEd and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App — even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In particular, we are not responsible for any real-world financial decisions you make, including any losses you incur if you choose to invest real money outside the App based on anything you learned or saw in the App.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us (through Apple) in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) US $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you. In that case, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InvestEd and its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of another person.
14. Third Parties
The App may display data or content from third-party sources (such as market data providers) and relies on Apple for app distribution. We are not responsible for third-party content, services, or terms. Apple is not a party to these Terms, is not responsible for the App, and any App Store–related issues are governed by Apple's terms in addition to ours.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law requires otherwise.

By using InvestEd, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms, that the App is for educational purposes only, that all investing activity in the App is simulated with no real money or real securities, and that Gold is a virtual currency with no cash value.
